Alums Defeat State Champions in Soccer Friendly Match

Varsity soccer Coach Brendan Johnston (’94) is one of the driving forces behind organizing and playing in the school’s alumni soccer game. For the most part the game is a once a year event.
The recent game had a special panache. The Saints Community, especially those who appreciate and follow soccer totally understood that the Saints Varsity team stepped on the campus soccer pitch as the defending state champions. In a nutshell, Saints high school soccer in 2012 walked away with all the laurels.
The new banner in the gym says Soccer 2012 State Champions. But that was last year. The recent alum v. varsity soccer match was in a word—a mismatch. The final score will not be published to protect the guilty. Score the friendly match as a win for the alums.
