The rules of the competition: There are no rules.
The second year of the Alumni sponsored Poetry Contest doubled in participation. The junior and freshmen classes joined the first year participants, seniors and sophomores, to make it an “all in” competition. The Alumni Association provides prizes to the top three poems in each class as selected by a panel of judges for each class. Our judges are the backbone of the competition, willingly giving back to Saints their time and expertise.
This year, judges for the Senior Class were: Ryan Luz ’04, Mark Johnson ’83, Kelly McNeil ’04, Dave DeCelles ’70 and Joe Morstad ’98. The Junior Class judges were: Joe DiTomaso ’54, Mike McDade ’58, Andy Castagnola ’66, Duncan McIntosh ’54 and Joe Kloberdanz ’68. The Sophomore Class judges were: John Bowman ’74 hon., Bob Spence ’64, David Gonzalez ’67, David Davey ’70 and Wayne Bradley ’67. The Freshmen Class judges were: Winnie Arnn – retired Saints teacher, Greg Ranney- retired Saints teacher, Mike DeCelles ’97, Billy Morstad ‘12 and Andy Richardson ’98.
