Written By: Virginia Mulherin

My husband, Jerome E. Mulherin, Class of 1957, passed away after a long illness March 9, 2015 in Loveland CO. Jerry and I were married 55 years, and today, April 4th, would have been our 56th anniversary. We made the 50th Reunion and it was shortly after we returned home that Jerry was diagnosed with West Nile Virus which affected his neurological system. His health gradually declined and, for the last 3 years he was restricted to a hospital bed here in the living room. He was a great man, true to his faith, his family and his friends. He served his country for 6 years in the Marine Corps. In 1973, he received the Honorary Service Award from Spring Valley Elementary PTA for his work with children, as well as the Continuous Service – Honorary Life Award in 1976. He was active with Valley de Oro Little League, Scoutmaster of Cub Scout Pack 47, Scout Leader of Boy Scout Troop 47, and a member of Mt. Miguel High School Band Boosters. In 1996-2006 he was a member of St. Therese Knights of Columbus Council #7792 and served 4 years as Grand Knight. Jerry’s funeral Mass was held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loveland and he was buried at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver CO.
