Chris Cashman, New Director of Advancement & Alumni Liaison

CASHMAN HEADSHOT - CUAlumni, Class of 1993

Award winning film Director, Writer and Producer. Cashman’s projects have been screened in over 50+ Film Festivals in 29 different cites around the globe. Most notably; Santa Barbara International Film Festival (Goofyfoot), Chicago Latino Film Festival (Undocument, Club Frontera), 11MM Berlin Film Festival (Club Frontera) and Kicking + Screening Soccer Film Festival in NYC (Winning the Sports Illustrated Golden Whistle Award for Best Feature Film Club Frontera).

Chris is a native San Diegan, who got his start in filmmaking when he was 15 years old by doing the Morning Announcements at St. Augustine High School. His biggest achievement in Hollywood to date is ironically not as a film director or producer, but as Will Ferrell’s Stunt Double in such films as Anchorman, Stranger Than Fiction and Kicking and Screaming. He doesn’t claim he’s a stuntman, but looks at working on those professional sets as an educational experience that showed him first hand the process of filmmaking and it gave him the opportunity to write his first feature film Carts (Mo Collins, Ted Lange).

Cashman most recently produced the award winning feature films Blood Will Have Blood, A Life Lived (starring Denise Richards, Jennifer Taylor) and the soccer documentary Club Frontera about the Tijuana Xolos professional soccer team.

At Saints Cashman lettered in Cross Country, Track and Volleyball. He started the Surf Club with Deacon Hardick. And was the Commissioner of Communications and the Associated Student Body President. Chris received a B.A. degree from Villanova University. At Nova, he was a member of the Volleyball team and the President of his fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Upon graduation he lived in Australia for one year surfing around the entire country. On his days off he enjoys hanging out with his wife Lisa of 15 years and their two daughters Jordana (9) and Audrey (7).
